i have lots of somewhat unconventional opinions, but i try to be
reserved in my judgement and justify all of my views with reason.
i believe in a transcendent God who can be defined as the nature
of everything. i believe this God has something like a plan
for humanity to unite with Him.
i believe that anyone can access the truths about God through reason;
that our mind is a divine gift. i believe in Jesus Christ because Christianity is very compatible with my philosophical views based on reason: i believe in salvation, and i believe that God would give humanity a possibility of salvation, but He did not give it through pure reason or natural engagement with the world, so it follows He gave us opportunity of salvation through some other way, and this i would call divine revelation. out of all the revelations i have come upon, Christianity is most compatible with my understanding of God.
i think that capitalism is an inherently flawed system, and that
it could be seriously improved. i feel capitalism
inevitably leads to a sort of corporatism that does not have
people's interests in mind and it has a corrupting influence on
our society and culture (consumerism, apathy, demoralisation).
a better system would be more like workplace democracy.
that said i recognise capitalism's successes and i think
many of its flaws come from the same things that make it
good going too far. it's like evolution, brutal but efficient.
when i'm in a car or a bus i look out my window and i see signs on
billboards and gas stations and malls with all these brands and logos,
and i think about the strange beauty of it all. all these companies
have developed these methods of controlling us and reproducing, and it
reminds me of nature, how life evolved to always fight tooth and nail to
spread. these companies and social constructs evolved all these defensive
traits to protect themselves from the humans they inhabit by distracting
and tricking them, and playing them against each other. and these signs
remind me of barnacles on a whale, or mushrooms in a forest,
or all the competing colors of a coral reef. and the language i use and
the thoughts i think similarly evolve and are sanded down to be most
efficient, and i am a creature who evolved from millions of creatures
who all tried to one-up the other, and by that unthinking cells became
a machine which comprehends the essence of reality. society, language, culture,
economics, biology, computer programs, memes; they all follow the same
set of rules which reproduce themselves in their own results like a fractal,
and are completely one and indivisible
sorry for bad pacing i hacked this text together.
i personally have no problem with pineapple on pizza.
